It was announced yesterday that Senator Lee wants to federally defund food stamps. A financially comfortable senator taking food away from poor people is the most despicable thing I've heard in recent times, and that's saying something. I enthusiastically and sincerely want my tax dollars to feed hungry people. What I don't want is higher military spending at the expense of immensely popular social programs. If we weren't so hostile and aggressive, maybe we wouldn't need such a big defense budget. Please put my tax dollars into feeding people, not war.
