Dear Representative,
I urge you to vote NO on the CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633) if it reaches the Senate floor before the August recess.
The bill’s backers frame it as a national competitiveness issue — that without a crypto market structure law, America falls behind China.
This framing is backwards. China banned crypto trading and mining outright in 2021.
We are not in a digital-asset race with Beijing.
We are in a race on the things that actually determine national strength, and we are losing those:
• Education: U.S. students trail Chinese peers in math and science benchmarks while we defund public schools and gut the Department of Education.
• Infrastructure: China has built over 28,000 miles of high-speed rail. We have none in operation.
• Healthcare: We spend more per capita than any nation on earth for worse outcomes and shorter lifespans.
• Energy and environment: China dominates solar, battery, and EV manufacturing while we subsidize legacy industries.
• Cost of living: Housing, childcare, and healthcare costs are hollowing out the American middle class — the actual engine of competitiveness.
The CLARITY Act does none of this. It hands the crypto industry a regulatory framework it wrote for itself, weakens SEC oversight, and remains entangled in unresolved ethics disputes involving the President’s own digital-asset ventures — which is precisely why bipartisan negotiations collapsed and why the bill sits on the calendar without the Democratic votes to clear cloture.
Floor time is scarce before August 7.
Spend it on legislation that strengthens the country, not one that launders industry priorities as patriotism.
Vote no on cloture.
Vote no on final passage.
Sincerely,
A Voting Constituent
