It’s really ridiculously hot. I went blueberry picking, something I have done since I was a child, and started getting overheated after a half hour. The heat is increasing, it’s due to climate change, and people are going to die. We are not going to have summer tourists. Florida will suffer from the direct heat impacts, plus infrastructure issues, plus sea level rise, plus more frequent and more intense storms. It’s almost as if the Republicans were lying about climate change not being a problem all along! We should have been addressing this for decades, but the Republicans stopped it. Now we have to deal with the consequences, the expense, and the health problems. But we shouldn’t allow it to get worse! The BBB is a disaster for climate change action. We should not be walking back anything from Biden’s wildly successful Inflation Reduction Act. We should keep tax breaks for EVs (not billionaires). We should do the green infrastructure projects. It’s good for our economy and our climate. Reject the BBB outright. Start over and do better.
