New York is a thriving city filled with working people who are increasingly anxious about economic uncertainties as AI cuts into the workforce. It is also a city that hosts a very wealthy class. Why do they want to be here? Because everyone who lives here makes it fun, creative, a hotbed of innovation and art making and music and multiple industries. Do we want that to die? Why do the mega rich not want to pay their fair due in taxes? Because they do not require the city services the rest of us do? Trump’s noxious tax cuts for billionaire is going to decimate this city unless you raise taxes on the wealthy. No one needs a billion dollars let alone multiple billions. Tax. The. Rich. Avoid cutting into public education, public health and public assistance. Fund the MTA. Otherwise we are going to see levels of desperation and violence that we have not seen since the 80s. Tax. The.
