A Vote Against Us: The Human Cost of the Big Beautiful Bill

To: Sen. Moran, Sen. Marshall, Rep. Estes

From: A constituent in Wichita, KS

July 5

The “Big Beautiful Bill” is a serious threat to the health and dignity of millions of Americans. Cutting over $1 trillion from Medicaid—a historic reduction—will lead to 17 million people losing coverage, affecting seniors, children, and individuals with disabilities. This will force rural hospitals to shut down, making access to basic care difficult and risking over 50,000 preventable deaths annually. At the same time, the bill secures permanent tax cuts for the wealthiest, while slashing essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP for struggling families. It also allocates $170 billion to ineffective immigration enforcement that does nothing to enhance public safety. This isn’t fiscal responsibility; it’s a damaging shift of resources from vital care to divisive policies. The overwhelming majority of Americans oppose these cuts, and the backlash will only increase as the consequences become clear. You had a choice: prioritize your constituents' health or reward the wealthy. You chose poorly. We urge you to reverse this decision and protect vital programs, as history and your voters are watching.
