Oppose the Anti-Weaponization Fund — constitutional violation

To: Sen. Boozman, Rep. Womack, Sen. Cotton

From: A constituent in Fayetteville, AR

May 19

I am a constituent in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and I am writing to demand your public opposition to the $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” created by the DOJ on May 18, 2026. This is not a legitimate legal settlement. It is a sitting president directing his own DOJ to settle a lawsuit he filed against his own executive branch — in exchange for a taxpayer-funded fund with virtually no eligibility criteria, no congressional authorization, and no independent oversight. The presiding federal judge questioned whether the case even constituted a real legal dispute before it was rushed to a conclusion to avoid her ruling. Three clear constitutional problems: 1. Domestic Emoluments Clause — the president cannot use government resources to benefit himself. 2. Appropriations power — Congress, not the DOJ, controls how nearly $2 billion in taxpayer money gets spent. 3. No judicial oversight — the case was withdrawn before the court could rule on its validity. I expect you to go on record opposing this, support oversight hearings, and assert Congress’s authority over these disbursements. If you believe in constitutional limits and fiscal responsibility, this is the moment to prove it.
