I am contacting All of You regarding Valar Atomics’ application for a right of way across more than 9,000 acres of BLM-managed land near Price, Utah.
Project Beehive would combine numerous small nuclear reactors, fuel production, radioactive waste storage, and a major data center complex. The proposal’s scale and interconnected components warrant careful consideration of its cumulative effects on climate, public health, water, wildlife, nearby communities, and future generations.
Please require a full Environmental Impact Statement instead of limiting the review to an environmental assessment. I also urge the BLM to hold accessible, in-person scoping meetings in Price and Wellington; evaluate the proposal as a single connected project; make application materials available once the completeness review concludes; and engage in formal consultation with Tribal governments connected to the affected area.
Decisions involving public land must be transparent, thorough, and accountable to the people who depend on these places. Please ensure the public has a meaningful opportunity to review the project and provide input before any authorization is considered.
