Donald Trump has nominated Dr. Heidi Overton, “a fierce opponent of abortion rights” to lead the FDA. I strongly oppose this nomination. Vote NO on Heidi Overton's nomination. If confirmed by the Senate as FDA Commissioner, Overton would lead the agency that controls access to a variety of reproductive health care medications—including mifepristone, the safe and effective pill used in over half of abortion care nationwide, including miscarriage care. She could weaponize the FDA to effectively ban access to mifepristone nationwide. Trump wants someone who will fall in line with his agenda. Overton's anti-abortion record speaks for itself—she won't hesitate to bring her extreme views to the nation's top public health agency.
