According to the Wall Street Journal, the administration is considering limited strikes to force Iran to negotiations, but history shows how quickly limited actions can escalate into prolonged conflicts. War Powers Act resolutions exist specifically to restrain presidential military authority and ensure Congress fulfills its constitutional duty to declare war. An early defeat in the House would remove a critical political barrier to military action and abandon the checks and balances our founders established.
