Mike J.'s Hide-and-Seek: A Masterclass in Work Avoidance I am disgusted to watch Speaker Mike Johnson send the entire House of Representatives running for the hills early to dodge a vote. Instead of handling actual government business, such as addressing an impeachment resolution, he simply packs up, hits the seven-week recess early, and pretends the job doesn't exist. Americans work hard every day, face accountability, and finish their duties before taking time off. Meanwhile, congressional leadership demonstrates that when faced with a privileged resolution and a tough decision, the preferred strategy is simply canceling work and starting vacation early. Taxpayers are paying top dollar for a masterclass in legislative hide-and-seek. It is time to end these wasteful shenanigans and get back to work. The public deserves representatives who face crucial issues directly rather than fleeing the floor to stall for time. Return to the chamber, do the job you were elected to perform, and demonstrate that holding public office requires courage & accountability, not cowardly antics.
