I am writing as your constituent to urge you to take immediate action to stop the unauthorized military operations the United States is conducting against Iran. The Constitution grants Congress alone the power to declare war. The War Powers Resolution of 1973 further requires congressional authorization for sustained military hostilities. Any ongoing military campaign against Iran that lacks a proper Authorization for Use of Military Force is unconstitutional and illegal. I urge you to: 1. Enforce War Powers Resolution compliance and its 60-day limit on unauthorized hostilities. 2. Introduce or support legislation requiring explicit congressional authorization before further offensive action against Iran. 3. Use Congress's power of the purse to restrict funding for unauthorized operations. 4. Demand public hearings so Americans understand the scope, goals, and costs of this engagement. The decision to go to war must never rest with one person. Please stand up for the Constitution, reassert Congress's war powers, and bring these unauthorized operations to an end.
