I will never understand or forgive you for coming together to use the power of the State to cause harm and trauma to law abiding, taxpaying Kansans who happen to express themselves differently, as they have the right to and have had no issues for years. Recently, the Kansas Legislature suddenly passed a law, overturning a governmental veto, to attack the Trans community using a process that skips the committee; which means you eliminated the opportunity for both public input or even a standard financial analysis. You knew none of your constituents would support this evil bigotry so you pushed it past us. One of the outcomes is the invalidation of all drivers licenses that have updated gender markers, providing very short notice, no transition plan, and no funding to accomplish this. Through no fault of their own, around 1800 law abiding Kansans woke up today with their drivers licenses suspended. They can't legally drive to work, or pick up their kids at school, like they could without issue for years. To add insult to bigotry, these folks have to pay for a new license, resulting in about $45k in additional costs on this community. There will inevitably be reparations for this, so you’re also wasting every single taxpayers money on top of those currently affected. There is no public safety value in invalidating these drivers licenses, just mean spirited culture war politics that results in real world pain and damages for those who just want to live in peace like the rest of us. It's shameful, and we expect more out of our state Legislature. You are fulfilling a clearly defined role created by the people and for the people. Human beings have the right to freedom of expression. Trans people have harmed no one. Hateful old white people have been the harm every single time, including this one. Is a single trans person in the Epstein Files? No, but our “president” is. Our countries have made their leaders accountable for involvement, but our “leaders” turn a blind eye and act as accomplices. Way to keep your citizens safe by persecuting them, encouraging harassment, randomly and suddenly invalidating their vital government documents, stealing their rights and freedoms, and continuing to protect a huge sex trafficking ring that has abused and killed millions. Your priorities, lack of empathy, and corruption are increasingly obvious everyday through your actions. You have betrayed your people yet again.
