I write to urge your immediate and forceful response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza. According to recent reporting, the ceasefire which began on October 10 has already been violated at least 282 times by Israeli forces through air strikes, artillery, and direct shootings.
Meanwhile, humanitarian aid remains severely restricted: Israel is still blocking critical medical supplies—including nearly one million syringes and infant formula bottles—and aid convoys are being denied entry or delayed, even though civilians continue to face starvation, disease, and collapse of medical care.
These facts demand that Congress:
• Condemn the massacre and repeated breaches of the ceasefire, making clear that civilian lives cannot be treated as collateral.
• Support legislation such as the Block the Bombs Act, which would condition U.S. military and financial assistance on strict adherence to international humanitarian law and protection of civilians.
• Ensure full open access for humanitarian corridors, so food, water, medicines, and shelter can reach those in Gaza without impediment.
The daily toll of these violations and the blocked relief efforts reflect a moral reckoning. Our nation must act with urgency and clarity. Silence or passivity legitimizes carnage and suffering under our watch.
