Vote No on the SAVE Act – Protect Constitutional Voting Rights
To: Sen. Kelly, Sen. Gallego
From: A constituent in Prescott, AZ
April 16
I urge you to vote no on the SAVE Act. This bill imposes unnecessary and redundant citizenship verification requirements under the guise of election security. In reality, it targets eligible voters and creates new bureaucratic barriers to participation in our democracy.
If enacted, the SAVE Act will disenfranchise naturalized citizens, students, veterans, rural voters, and millions of married women and others whose legal names no longer match their birth certificates. In some interpretations, even a birth certificate may not be accepted as valid proof. This is a dangerous form of voter suppression with sweeping national impact.
You swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. That includes protecting the right to vote for all eligible citizens. I urge you to uphold that oath and reject this attempt to undermine free and fair elections. Vote no on the SAVE Act.
