Your NDAA amendment vote was sick and wrong
To: Rep. Tonko
From: A verified voter in Albany, NY
December 12
I am ashamed that you chose to vote yes on the amendment to the NDAA denying life saving medical care to the trans kids of those who fight for our country. You could have decided to stand with your peers in the party, but instead you decided to use my family as a bargaining chip. You have lost my vote and the vote of my wife. We are proud Albany residents for going on five years. We can no longer rely on you to protect our civil rights and that breaks my heart. As the daughter of a military family, I am weeping today for my friends in the service and their vulnerable children. Shame on you for using the children of service members as bargaining chips. I pray that God will change your heart.
