It’s very confusing to live in a world where things are promised that never come true. Where language is used to confuse and obfuscate rather than mean anything. Where our elected officials constantly and consistently use the most disingenuous methods known to man to cover their asses. And truly believe we’ll swallow it all. Example. The AG vote schedule for tomorrow. Sure to be shoo-in now that Todd Blanche jumped through a hoop for two senators who really believe they had a great success by getting the DOJ to put in writing that the 1/6 slush fund is dead in the water. Reality. This is a hollow promise. There’s always a work-around. Last week, the DOJ paid $1.2M to Paul Vaughn, who was convicted in 2024 of violating the FACE Act, which bans “force or threat of force or… physical obstruction” that “intentionally injures, intimidates or interferes with… any person… obtaining or providing reproductive health care services.” While Vaughn claimed he was arrested for praying, in fact he blocked the doors of a reproductive health care clinic in Tennessee. This payoff shows that the DOJ will simply give out individual settlements instead of one designated fund. Next. Blanche’s senator-placating letter did not change the terms of the nonprosecution order providing that the DOJ would not prosecute Trump, his sons, the Trump Organization, or their associates for crimes related to tax returns filed before May 19, 2026. Blanche reiterated that the nonprosecution order applies “only retroactively,” but apparently that was always the case. It appears Trump owes at least $100M to the American people from previous tax ‘shenanigans’ that turned up in audits. It’s possible there are more. But under the order signed by Blanche, we would never know. The order says that the IRS will not audit the tax returns of Trump and his associates before the May 19 date. As one observer noted…”Pretty convenient that Trump gets immunity from IRS audits for the year where he made, by far, the most money of his entire life in shady deals all over the globe.” More stuff to be ignored by confirmation…Blanche appears to have been the person most responsible for ignoring the Epstein Files Transparency Act. According to a federal judge, Blanche essentially admitted he had violated the law when he failed to address allegations brought by a journalist who sued for access to documents they claimed were unlawfully redacted. Those documents are now under review by that judge to see if the redactions were proper. If they are determined to not be, and GOP senators have already put Blanche in the position of the top cop in the country, they will not only appear to be complicit in the Epstein files cover-up. They WILL BE complicit.
