I am writing today to tell you that something needs to be done about the breakdown of institution integrity and leadership at the Texas Tech University System. Brendan Sorsby admitted to placing thousands of bets, including bets involving his own team. Although a court injunction (wrongfully) has paused the NCAA penalties against Mr. Sorsby, the public actions of Texas Tech leadership, driven heavily by Regent Cody Campbell, have compromised the integrity of TTU and college athletics as a whole. Rather than upholding accountability and ethics, university leadership has enabled the subversion of foundational sports regulations. Please exercise your power of oversight into the university to investigate Mr. Campbell's conflict of interest. A regent should not be personally bankrolling student athletes in the first place. Please provide a reply to my letter. Thank you.
