Vote no to KOSA/KOPSA

To: Sen. Carper, Sen. Coons, Rep. Blunt Rochester

From: A verified voter in Wilmington, DE

July 30, 2024

The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) poses a grave threat to LGBTQ+ youth by enabling widespread censorship of vital online resources and communities. Despite claims of protecting children, this legislation would pressure platforms to suppress content about gender identity, sexuality, and other important topics under the guise of preventing "harm." This censorship undermines the ability of LGBTQ+ youth to access life-saving information, connect with supportive communities, and explore their identities safely. Empowering and arming young people with knowledge is the true path to protection, not cutting them off from difficult but necessary discussions. I urge you to listen to the voices of LGBTQ+ youth who have spoken out against KOSA and vote no on this damaging bill. Our children deserve access to the resources that allow them to thrive, not misguided censorship that would isolate and endanger them further.
