I urge opposition to school voucher programs which divert public funds away from adequately supporting our public education system. Studies show vouchers do not improve student outcomes and instead leave many students behind, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs. Public schools should receive the full funding they need to provide a quality education for all children, regardless of income level or zip code. Redirecting taxpayer dollars to private schools lacking accountability measures undermines our commitment to providing every child an equal opportunity to learn and succeed. We must invest in strengthening public education, not undermining it through misguided voucher schemes.
