No to Todd Blanche for Attorney General

To: Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell

From: A verified voter in Auburn, WA

August 1

As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to vote NO on the confirmation of Todd Blanche for Attorney General, should it come up for a vote. Todd Blanche is acting as a personal lawyer for the President, not a public servant. He has weaponized the Justice Department by firing career prosecutors, targeting political opponents and civil rights groups, and dropping charges against January 6 rioters. His efforts to set up a slush fund and pursuit of a corrupt settlement to grant the President and his family permanent immunity from IRS audits for past returns is a blatant abuse of taxpayer resources. We need an Attorney General who respects the rule of law and has unimpeachable ethical credentials. I appreciate that you are opposing Todd Blanche's nomination. Trump is now saying he doesn't need senate confirmation for Todd Blanche and will leave him as acting Attorney General indefinitely unless the senate agrees to allow the $1.8 billion slush fund that Todd Blanche setup. Both of these are corrupt self-dealing acts and I urge you to oppose both Todd Blanche and the $1.8 billion slush fund and all the other corrupt actions Trump is taking.
