Reallocate funds from military parade to school meal programs

To: Rep. Gonzales, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A constituent in San Antonio, TX

May 27

Nearly $45 million is being allocated for a lavish military parade, while funding for crucial programs like education and public assistance faces cuts. Diverting significant resources to an extravagant display seems misguided when that money could instead provide meals for impoverished students across the nation. A military parade does little to address the real issues affecting American families. The proposed budget priorities appear to prioritize spectacle over substantive support for our most vulnerable citizens, especially children in need. A reallocation of funds towards bolstering school meal programs and other essential services would yield far greater societal benefits than a fleeting display of military might on the nation's streets.
