Elon Musk’s latest demand—that federal employees submit weekly reports justifying their jobs—is blatant harassment. These public servants do not report to him, and this overreach is nothing more than an intimidation tactic designed to push them out. The so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has no authority to impose these arbitrary demands. Musk is treating the federal government like his personal company, using the same coercive tactics he employed at Twitter to force resignations and gut institutions. I know we are at the mercy of a spineless Republican legislature who refuses to stand up to our megalomaniac president and his henchman, Musk. I feel helpless to do much more than send emails and protest when I can. This is a shameful blot on our country. Please do whatever you and your Democratic colleagues can do to: 1. Publicly reject Musk’s overreach and affirm that federal employees do not answer to him. 2. Investigate the legality of this demand and its impact on worker protections. 3. Protect public servants from these hostile tactics. Thank you.
