“In no part of the constitution is more wisdom to be found than in the clause which confides the question of war or peace to the legislature, and not to the executive." -- James Madison Only 27 % of Americans approve of this Republican administration’s war with Iran. At the end of the Viet Nam war, only 29% of Americans supported the war. Today, gas prices are up. The stock market is down. Americans of both parties oppose this illegal war. It has left at least six servicemembers dead, and leaves thousands of American civilians stranded throughout the Middle East. There is no excuse for this reckless ‘Operation Epstein Fury,’ unilaterally launched by this administration. You and your fellow members of Congress must reclaim your constitutionally-invested power and put an end to this war. To not do so creates the scenario our founders most feared, the rule of a tyrant. My wife and I urge you to do everything in your power to end this unnecessary, unpopular, unconstitutional war.
