Demand Immediate Resignation of Stephen Miller as Deputy Chief of Staff

To: Sen. Kelly, Sen. Gallego, Rep. Ciscomani

From: A verified voter in Tucson, AZ

March 7

I am writing to urge you to publicly demand the immediate resignation of Stephen Miller from his position as deputy chief of staff for policy in the Trump administration. Miller's extremist anti-immigrant and imperialist policies are endangering our nation, eroding international peace and stability, and threatening our most basic civil liberties. Since the first Trump administration, Miller has been the architect of some of the most harmful immigration policies in recent history. He designed the family separation policy that tore children from their parents at the border, orchestrated the cancellation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that protected young people brought to this country as children, and escalated ICE detention and deportation campaigns that have spread fear throughout communities. He has advocated for eliminating due process rights for undocumented people and spread misinformation about immigrants and US citizens affected by ICE actions. Miller's influence extends beyond immigration policy into dangerous foreign policy territory. He has led extrajudicial drone strikes on Venezuelan boats and called for military force to seize Greenland. These imperialist approaches destabilize international relations and put American interests at risk. The recent high-profile killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti have drawn renewed attention to the consequences of policies Miller champions. While Miller is not an elected official or agency head, he wields enormous influence over administration policy. His white supremacist views and extremist positions make him a catalyst for policies that contradict American values of justice and human dignity. No one with such dangerous ideology should hold a position of power in our government. I am asking you to take a public stand against Miller's continued role in shaping policy. Call for his immediate resignation and make clear that his extremist views have no place in government. Your constituents deserve leadership that protects civil liberties and promotes stability, not policies rooted in hatred and authoritarianism.
