Today, the Energy and Natural Resources Committee questioned Steve Pearce regarding his nomination for BLM director. Should his nomination advance out of committee, which seems likely, I ask that you oppose his confirmation. As a hunter and conservationist, I have been appalled at the repeated attempts by some lawmakers to undermine public lands. I oppose Pearce's nomination given his prior advocacy for reducing federal lands. I am also alarmed by his opposition to the designation of National Monuments and National Forests. Public lands are vital to outdoor recreation I urge you to oppose Steve Pearce's nomination as BLM director.
