As a Disabled Veteran married to a retired Veteran, our only income is from the Veterans Administration and the Department of Defense. We are only 2 of millions who will be affected by a government shutdown. North Carolina is home to 800,000 Veterans alone, and going unpaid is not what we agreed to when we gave the best years of our lives to serve this country. Put aside petty politics and posturing, and agree to the Continuing Resolution. Better yet, pass a damn budget and be done with it. Do your damn job and refrain from screwing your constituents just in time for Christmas.
