Abolish ICE. Not reform it, not rebrand it — end it. Last September 30, hundreds of federal agents in body armor rappelled from a Black Hawk helicopter onto a residential apartment building on Chicago's South Side, battering down doors and rounding up residents at gunpoint. That is not law enforcement. That is a military assault on a neighborhood.
This is what ICE does. It terrorizes communities, destroys families, and burns through taxpayer money to stage shock-and-awe raids on apartment buildings. There is no version of this agency that can be fixed with oversight or new leadership. The institution itself is the problem. Vote to defund and abolish ICE, and support legislation that replaces it with humane, accountable immigration processes that don't treat residents like enemy combatants.
