Look, the political violence has got to stop. Politicians on both sides have been feeding it, social media is winding people up for the benefit of selling ads on an app. I am writing to *demand* that you join with a peer of yours on the other side of the aisle to tell your constituents to oppose political violence. I am writing you to demand that Hakim Jeffries and Donald Trump release a joint video statement condemning this violence. 10% of the American public on both sides of the aisle are now tacitly approving of political violence and it will escalate unless YOU do something to address it. These joint statements do historically have a calming effect. It has been studied. If you fail to make a statement it only proves you don’t care about us. And those of us who can vote will remember.
