Just as a reminder: We want our tax dollars to go to making healthcare and housing more accessible, affordable and effective, and toward improving everyday Americans' everyday life. NOT to financing an illegal war, that is leaving us worse off than when we started. NOT to funding ICE and the Border Patrol unless they are forced to stop acting unlawfully. NOT to building a gilded ballroom using money awarded in a no-bid private contract and supporting Donald Trump's grift with a general contractor fee. NOT to paying off criminals guilty of insurrection and seditious conspiracy. NOT to putting Trump's name and face on anything else that we'll just have to then pay to replace as soon as he's out of office. In addition, now that the Supreme Court has gutted the remains of the Voting Rights Act, I want to see Congress pass legislation that guarantees and facilitates the right to vote for every citizen and that outlaws and reverses partisan gerrymandering. It shouldn't be a difficult matter to ensure fair elections, and the fact that we're doing so much more poorly at that than other democracies is shameful.
