The EPA just approved two PFAS "forever chemicals" for immediate use in semiconductor facilities — chemicals the agency itself admits may cause sudden death, cancer, eye corrosion, neurological damage, and reproductive harm. The EPA doesn't even know the dose at which these compounds become lethal. That's not a precaution, that's a scandal. You need to demand these approvals be reversed. This isn't a close call. The Toxic Substances Control Act is explicit: if a chemical may present an "unreasonable risk," the EPA must restrict or prohibit it. The agency's own consent orders use that exact phrase — and then approved the chemicals anyway. Earthjustice has filed suit, and they're right to. The only restriction the EPA imposed was limiting container size, not total volume. That protects no one. These chemicals are likely PFAS compounds that don't break down, accumulate in bodies and ecosystems, and end up in wastewater at concentrations that dwarf legal drinking water limits. The communities near incinerators tasked with disposing of this waste are predominantly low-income. This administration is trading public health for AI infrastructure that my community never asked for. Use every tool available — oversight hearings, appropriations riders, direct pressure on EPA leadership — to stop this.
