THAT’S SOME GREAT NEGOTIATING?

To: Rep. Pfluger, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A verified voter in Mason, TX

April 10

Well. That was fun. Tariffs yes! Tariffs now! Tariffs forever! No quarter! I will never falter. Ever. Whoops. Never mind. It was all just a brilliant maneuver to…not sure. Is anyone? Here’s one take from the deal-maker-in-chief… "I thought that people were jumping a little bit out of line," Trump said. "They were getting yippy, you know, they were getting a little bit yippy, a little bit afraid." And another quick-cover-my-ass take… “[B]ased on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Done deal. Can’t wait to see the results. I kid. A WH spokesperson told NBC News that it does not plan to release a list of the 75 countries Trump said reached out to negotiate trade deals. Like every other major declaration of success by this administration, we’re expected to simply take their word for it. With no evidence other than postings on social media about what a great job is being done on anything and everything. Just trust us. And if you don’t you’re an unpatriotic commie. In the real world the past week is a simple take. Trump tanked the economy and then he reversed course. Or as it was succinctly put by an observer… “You set the house on fire, watched it burn, and then lost your nerve and put it out. You now have a partially burned house. Great job.” Even before this latest and greatest cock-up 5.2 million people turned out last weekend for “Hands Off” protests around the country and world. Still think he’s doing a great job?
