Tariffs need Congressional Oversight and ACTION

To: Sen. Hawley, Rep. Graves, Sen. Schmitt

From: A constituent in Plattsburg, MO

April 11

It does not appear that the President has the authority to impose tariffs unilaterally. The International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not give the President this power and interferes with the Constitution’s separation of powers. Congress has the sole authority to control tariffs and these statutes, passed by Congress, cannot be ignored! What oversight are YOU doing? Do you plan to have any oversight and input to tariff levels? This process has been chaotic and stupid ~ no one making decisions seems to have any idea what they are doing. I expect an IMMEDIATE answer. You are risking the retirement investments of millions of Americans! The "national emergency" declared is false and Congress needs to challenge this craziness. You are a coequal branch of government, act like it. I expect an answer and want to know what action and when you plan to do something.
