I am a constituent from Yuma, Arizona. My family and I rely on air travel constantly — and my son is an airline pilot and Marine reservist. The shutdown is already stretching TSA, ATC, and aviation safety systems to dangerous limits. Please pass a clean CR now to reopen the government and then negotiate policy. This shutdown harms national security, military families, and civilian workers who are required to work without pay. Back pay must include workers and contractors. I strongly support No-Pay-During-Shutdowns legislation for Congress. Members of Congress should not be paid when those who keep us safe are forced to work without pay. I will be closely watching how you lead on this and I will vote accordingly.
