I’m really worried about the budget that is before Congress. Research has shown that most millionaires and billionaires are just lucky. I’ve been a small business owner for the last 35 years, and the changes in Washington are putting me out of business. Sure, y’all are saying that it supports the middle class and family farms but it would transfer massive amounts of wealth upwards, exacerbating inequality. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates it would increase the deficit by $2.4 trillion, burdening future generations. I have a family history of Alzheimers and there’s a good change I will need Medicaid to be able to afford a nursing home. My alternative is suicide—I don’t have children and I’m a widow. There is no one else to take care of me. The President's comments dismisses my concerns as "grandstanding" and characterizes me as "not a good person." He is not my religious advisor or moral authority. I am going to die homeless because of this bill. His cuts to research and universities has put me out of business. I implore you to reject this reckless bill and beg you to participate in a bipartisan process that puts the needs of your constituents first.
