Governors have a unique position as executives of their respective states, and they wield significant power outside of the federal branches of government. These officials will be the front line against executive orders that the upcoming White House will issue, attempting to work its way around any checks and balances from Congress or the Courts. Trump has promised (and Stephen Miller has recently reiterated) a mass deportation scheme across the United States soon after Inauguration Day and inevitably it will involve state assistance to find, round up and deport immigrants. Tell your Governor to refuse requests by the Administration to round up immigrants as part of this cruel plan.
