As your constituent, I'm writing to encourage you to cast your vote for AOC to take the reigns as the top democrat in the House Oversight Committee. While the congressman from Virginia is a fair choice, it's time for new ideas and bold action in that role. Our political leadership is far older than the bulk of voting Americans, and it's time we make our top brass reflective of our communities. Additionally, I truly don't know how Gerry Connolly can perform well in this critical seat while juggling a cancer diagnosis, especially at his age. No shade to him, but it seems like a lot to ask of a person and we need somebody who's got the energy and rigor to bring their A game every day. AOC at the helm in this position would indicate to the American people that we're not going to roll over and take whatever the Trump administration comes up with. That we're supporting democrats with ideals and approaches that better represent average Americans. While Mr. Connolly is wonderfully progressive and a pillar of our state, he's just not right for this spot. So please, when the full vote comes, support AOC for the House Oversight Committee democratic leadership position.
