Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. We’ll all be relieved to know that this is my last letter to you all. Not that anyone cares, but I have tried the best I could over the years to plead for sanity in our politics. But last night proved once and for all that that quest was always going to be futile. I never want to hear the words “America is better than this” again. I never want to be told about America’s better angels. We just re-elected a disaster. And we were happy to do so. So I’m signing out and signing off. Y’all created this monster. A monster who flourished as a result of a decade of lies and misinformation, aided and abetted by your party. He’s all yours. Thanks guys. Goodbye. And good luck. You, and the country, will need it. Hope it’s everything you thought it would be.
