To the Dishonorable Representatives of Indiana,
I am writing to express my deep anger, disappointment, and utter disdain for your complete silence in the face of Donald Trump's outrageous and dangerous statement suggesting he may not need to follow the United States Constitution.
Let me be crystal clear: there is no gray area when it comes to defending the Constitution. When a former president—and current candidate—brazenly questions whether he should be bound by the very document that forms the foundation of our Republic, every elected official has a duty to condemn such rhetoric unequivocally and immediately. Yet you have chosen cowardice. You have chosen silence. And in doing so, you have failed the people you represent and the oath you swore to uphold.
What does it say about your leadership that you are unwilling to stand up to a man who openly undermines the rule of law? Do you not see the danger in normalizing this kind of authoritarian thinking? Or are you so politically compromised that defending the Constitution is now optional?
Your silence is complicity. Your refusal to speak up is a betrayal—not just of your office, but of every Hoosier who still believes in democracy, the rule of law, and the enduring strength of the Constitution.
We are watching. And we will remember.
