The proposed "mega API" at the IRS poses serious risks to taxpayer privacy and data security. Consolidating all IRS data into a centralized system that is potentially accessible to private companies like Palantir is deeply concerning. Our sensitive financial information, including Social Security numbers, tax returns, and employment records, deserves robust protection and should not be exposed through a single point of failure. I urge you to reject any efforts by DOGE to create this "mega API" and instead prioritize strengthening safeguards around IRS systems to uphold privacy rights and prevent misuse or exploitation of personal data. Citizens must be able to trust that their tax information remains confidential and secured against unauthorized access or mishandling. Protecting taxpayer privacy should be paramount.
