I am writing you today because a woman’s life is in immediate danger. Her name is Arbella Rodriguez Marquez “Yari”. She has legal US residency. She was abducted by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in February 2025. She is now being held in the Eloy detention center. Yari is being denied medical care despite having chronic lymphocytic leukemia. She has lost 70 pounds since she was placed in detention, and is presently throwing up blood. She is being denied any pain relief. Yari is housed in terrible conditions, including no heat. International Human Rights Standards, US Constitutional law, and ICE’s own detention policy require that detainees receive timely, adequate life-saving medical care. If the detention center cannot provide such care, the detainee should be released. It is required by law. An ankle bracelet can be placed on her ankle, and she should be sent to the hospital immediately. Please take fast action on this matter as Yari‘s life depends on it. Thank you!
