No to "defining M/F act 2024"
To: Sen. Marshall, Rep. Davids, Sen. Moran
From: A constituent in Lenexa, KS
November 23
Passing the defining male and female act of 2024 will cause massive loss of revenue and potentially constituents in Kansas; people in my family will probably choose to leave the state if this propaganda passes. This is an ancient and prehistoric view of biology, sex and gender, and exclusive of minorities. While one of you claims in your years as a "Doctor"; you said you "As a physician who has delivered over 5,000 babies" per the Daily Wire Exclusive Article. Well, according to ISNA"experts at medical centers how often a child is born so noticeably atypical in terms of genitalia that a specialist in sex differentiation is called in, the number comes out to about 1 in 1500 to 1 in 2000 births. So this doctor who had been elected should have been at least 4 kids minimum that presented atypical from other children. What's more, "approximation statistics by Brown University researcher Anne Fausto-Sterling" in 1998 show; "Not XX and not XY - one in 1,666 births Klinefelter (XXY)- one in 1,000 births; Hypospadias -one in 2,000 births; Hypospadias - one in 770 births; Total number of people whose bodies differ from standard male or female one in 100 births; Total number of people receiving surgery to “normalize” genital appearance one or two in 1,000 births" As the delivery doctor you would have had to assign their sex, so please explain how you "can confidently say that [Biden-Harris administration is] politicizing children’s gender to use them as pawns." (Dailey Wire again). By making these issues political with this legislation, you are making lives political. Do not make Kansans pawns; we've been there before and we're tired of it. Evan as the GOP seems to ignore proven, factual science, 36 trans people died trying as acts like this that are extremely hurtful, unverified fear mongering of situations that don't happen, causing unnecessary loss. Please do not make more struggles for 1% of the population across the USA; we have much bigger issues we're worried about like the education of the future generations, and the rate of domestic violence and murder from cis, white men against their families. Multiple people have died in Kansas City area from white, cis men and yet this what you choose to spend time on? I would suggest at least 5 minutes of googling the difference between "sex" and "gender".Look into the difference, and remember you are legislators and not psychologists. Just because you don't understand it or refuse to learn doesn't mean it doesn't exist; or it's not felt by the people you are representing. Please consider doing the work and learning so your constituents do not lose people we love to hate crimes, discrimination, or have to leave the state with their families to keep safe. Please understand these have and will negatively affect our future generations severely. It is more important than ever that Kansas becomes a safe place to land for everyone in this time.
