Say no to trumps even bigger new slush fund!! National Park entrance fees are being siphoned into Trump’s D.C. beautification projects. Now there’s a push for another $10 billion, and the Appropriations Committee votes June 3rd. Tell Chairman Tom Cole to remove Trump’s $10B slush fund from DOI budget proposal. Trump’s 2027 budget proposed slashing National Park Service operations by 25%, while simultaneously creating a “mandatory” $10B Presidential Capital Stewardship Program to “beautify” Washington D.C. — administered through the same already-gutted agency. Congress has already dramatically scaled back the NPS cuts. That means this proposal can still be stopped or stripped out — but only if pressure is applied before the vote. What’s Happening: The National Park System carries a $23B maintenance backlog
This $10B fund alone would wipe out nearly half of that backlog
Our national parks are being gutted while billions are redirected into D.C. projects through the same system—and the cracks are already showing, as Memorial Day at Yosemite made clear. Take Action 📌 SPEAK UP: Tell Chairman Tom Cole to remove Trump’s $10B slush fund from the proposal.
