Enshrine the Equal Rights Amendment into the constitution before it's too late! The Equal Rights Amendment has satisfied all constitutional requirements for ratification, yet it remains unpublished and unenshrined in the Constitution due to procedural delays. This leaves a glaring equality gap for 170 million American women and girls who lack explicit constitutional protections against sex-based discrimination by the government. As legal experts affirm, the decades-long ratification process for the ERA is complete. It is imperative that the Biden administration takes immediate action to instruct the National Archivist to publish the ratified amendment, as is customary. Failing to do so perpetuates an unjust legacy of oppression rooted in the nation's history of treating women as legal property. Withholding the ERA's enshrinement undermines our nation's commitment to equality and hinders progress by suppressing the immense potential of women and girls. It also leaves the LGBTQ+ community vulnerable to discrimination based on gender identity and expression. Closing the constitutional equality gap is not only a matter of fulfilling a campaign promise but also a rare opportunity for President Biden to cement a lasting legacy of equity and justice. The time for procedural delays has long passed – the will of the American people demands action to finally guarantee equal rights for all, regardless of sex.
