I am writing to express deep concern about the recent unauthorized military strikes on Venezuela conducted by the Trump administration. These actions risk escalating into a broader conflict without congressional approval, raising serious constitutional and legal issues.
As you know, the Constitution grants Congress — not the executive branch — the authority to declare war. The administration’s unilateral military actions undermine this fundamental principle and set a dangerous precedent for unchecked executive power.
I urge you to support and advance a War Powers Resolution to block any further unauthorized military engagement in Venezuela. Congress must reassert its constitutional role and prevent the United States from entering an illegal and unnecessary conflict.
In addition, I have called for the impeachment of Pete Hegseth and Senator Marco Rubio for their roles in promoting or supporting actions that circumvent lawful processes. I also support the articles of impeachment introduced against President Trump for defying statutory limits and acting outside the law.
I ask that you take these matters seriously and use every tool available to uphold the Constitution, protect the separation of powers, and prevent unauthorized military escalation.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent issue. I look forward to your response and to seeing Congress take decisive action.
