Vote no on Friday’s reckless spending bill

To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley

From: A verified voter in Belton, MO

March 13

The Republican-drafted spending bill contains drastic cuts that would undermine critical programs supporting vulnerable Americans. It provides a $6 billion increase for military spending while slashing $13 billion from non-defense programs, jeopardizing funding for domestic violence shelters, Alzheimer's research, and other vital services that families rely on. This draconian legislation would create widespread harm and hardship. I urge you to reject this misguided effort and instead work across the aisle on a clean, short-term funding extension to keep the government open while allowing time for bipartisan negotiations on a more responsible long-term solution. Protecting the well-being of our constituents must take precedence over partisan posturing. Vote no on this reckless bill that sacrifices American families for ill-conceived austerity.
