I am writing today as a constituent to express my absolute fury and total opposition to the ongoing military operations against Iran. This is a war of choice—an unauthorized, regime-change conflict that is being carried out without a declaration of war from Congress and in direct violation of the War Powers Act. We are being told that there is no money for the essential needs of the American people, yet we are currently burning through an estimated one billion dollars a day on this escalation. The math is as devastating as it is simple: In just one month, the cost of this war will exceed what is required to provide healthcare for 2 million Americans. While taxpayer dollars are being used to "annihilate" foreign infrastructure, our own citizens are facing rising costs for food, energy, and life-saving medical care. Congress has a constitutional duty to be a check on the Executive Branch. For too long, the President has acted as if they are above the law, ignoring diplomatic channels and moving straight to a high-cost conflict that serves no clear national security interest. By continuing to allow this "maximum pressure" campaign to escalate into a full-scale war, you are complicit in the siphoning of our domestic resources into a Middle Eastern quagmire. I am demanding that you take the following actions immediately: 1. Invoke the War Powers Resolution to force a vote on the immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces from hostilities against Iran. 2. Vote NO on any emergency supplemental funding or "Overseas Contingency Operations" (OCO) requests for this war. 3. Publicly condemn the use of executive overreach to bypass the Congressional power to declare war. Do not tell me that "no one is above the law" while this administration continues to prove otherwise every single day. The American people are tired of being told we can’t afford healthcare and food while the treasury is wide open for an illegal war. I expect a response detailing exactly what steps you are taking to reign in this administration and bring these funds back to the American people.
