Trump has declared “war on Chicago.” This is vile. This is evil. And it is treason. Chicago is not the enemy. It is an American city—our neighbor, our people. For him to target it like this is an attack on our country itself. The fact that Republicans continue to allow and support this dangerous behavior is beyond shameful. As an Iowan, I will not stand silent while someone who holds the presidency declares war on fellow Americans. You have a duty to denounce this immediately and take action. If you will not, then you are complicit. This needs to stop. Not tomorrow, not after the next election—now.
