Reject nominee undermining science, endangering public health
To: Sen. Brinks
From: A constituent in Grand Rapids, MI
January 29
The nominee, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., holds controversial views that are at odds with established science and public health principles. His vocal anti-vaccine stance and promotion of debunked conspiracy theories about vaccines and autism pose a serious threat to efforts to combat vaccine-preventable diseases and protect public health. This position is deeply concerning for someone being considered to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Furthermore, Mr. Kennedy has demonstrated a pattern of spreading misinformation and making unsubstantiated claims about various environmental issues. His lack of credible scientific grounding calls into question his ability to effectively lead an agency that relies heavily on evidence-based policymaking and medical expertise. For these reasons, I urge you to carefully scrutinize this nomination. Appointing someone who rejects mainstream science and perpetuates conspiracy theories to head a crucial public health agency would undermine trust in public institutions and endanger the health and wellbeing of all Americans. A nominee lacking a firm commitment to scientific integrity is unfit for this vital role.
