Congressional Authorization needed for military action

To: Sen. Ricketts, Sen. Fischer, Rep. Bacon

From: A verified voter in Valley, NE

January 4

Have you had enough yet? Where are the checks and balances that you, as an elected official of Congress, are required by our constitution to provide? The president is required to have congressional approval for any act of war. Did you secretly vote to give him that approval? Or are you just without ethics and going to allow this gross over reach? The attack on Venezuela was unwarranted. This could also be seen as an overt act of war. You need to step up as a leader and provide Congressional leadership to check these types of actions. To allow the president to go unchecked and attack a foreign leader is unconscionable. Congressional approval is required for any act of war. That is your responsibility as a representative of Nebraska. Fight for our military families. They are worried about their service members. Fight for our service members so they are not put in unethical and unnecessary positions. Only you can make this right by placing proper boundaries on the executive branch.
