A protester was struck by a vehicle exiting the Delaney Hall Detention Facility, and I expect a full criminal investigation into everyone responsible — the driver, and anyone who directed or enabled that vehicle's movement into a crowd. This is not a matter of politics. Someone was physically harmed, and the people who did it need to be held accountable in court.
The facts need to be established on the record: who was driving, who authorized the exit, and whether proper safety protocols were in place. If this incident is allowed to pass without prosecution, it sends a clear message that people in or around federal detention facilities can injure protesters without consequence. That is unacceptable. Push the relevant law enforcement agencies to open a transparent investigation, share findings publicly, and pursue charges where the evidence supports them.
